Why Senda Monteverde Hotel
You love freedom and ease. You take your own sweet time and don’t mind the spare moments. You make every day count. And you make it all look effortless.
Is this you?
We know you have many choices in where you stay in Monteverde, so if this resonates with you, you’ve come to the right place.
If you want to be rested and ready for everything Monteverde offers —you will find it here.
When Senda’s local owners — John & Lisa Aspinall — took over the closed Sapo Dorado Hotel in 2018, their mission was to breath new life into this once legendary hotel and invigorate the community in the process.
With a nod to its former history, John & Lisa named Senda’s restaurant “El Sapo” and went to work on reviving the famed hotel.
The playful, contemporary design, warm personable service, the luxury essentials, the local artwork donning the walls, the hyper-local cuisine…
All this has been carefully curated to complement the feeling that you’ll experience when you look out on your terrace perched in the highlands:
You’ve come to your private, mountain hideaway with all the best essentials. Surrounded by nature, the heart of Monteverde.
You’ll find that other hotels are further up the road — sometimes a 2 hour walk into town roundtrip. But us—
We’re only a 15 minute walk to Monteverde Town. You’ll get the best of both worlds —we’re surrounded by nature, and you’ll find it convenient to just stroll into town to grab a coffee or visit a craft beer house when the mood strikes.
Newly opened, Senda Monteverde has transformed into a luxury eco-hotel for adventurous travelers like you, who seek a peaceful, down-to-earth stay.
And this is only the beginning.
Wonder and wander at Senda Monteverde. Because every day counts.
Senda Monteverde Hotel is a proud member of the Cayuga Collection of Sustainable Luxury Hotels & Lodges. Through its environmental awareness efforts and sustainability programs, it represents a new generation of hoteliers leading the way for intelligent luxury travel.
Your Luxury Mountain Hideaway
“If you like modern design with lots of windows you’ll love this place. A real plus is the location too. While the hotel is hidden and private, you are within walking distance of the town and a private cloud forest reserve with beautiful trails.”
